@@blueturtle3846 not spoiler, but one of the theories for Totoro is that the mother was dead all along and the children were able to see her because they are nearing their death too. (Having caught whatever disease their mother had.) Which means that Totoro is sort of a grim-reaper in the theory.

Apparently the big deal is that KZbin got sued 170M USD for a Child Privacy law about the targeted ads collecting data on Kids without the adult's consent where before Kid toys videos made like 10x the money on ads. Now, after the changes videos 'made for kids' apparently can have comments disabled and removed from public search results rather than KZbin dealing with a basically guessing AI and COPPA sue headache. Some KZbinrs who flagged their videos for kids reported losing 90% of their revenue. So the Cartoon Gore may be a way for Cas to keep it from his Bright and simple nostalgic style from dissapearing from public. I get that they want to protect kids, but as a viewer i think the gore is done in a way that distracts from a video and prefered his pre Coppa videos. I can see why he would want to do something though, since if it goes through who knows if we'd be able to get more or even see more of it. It's completely stupid and unproductive though. Instead of protecting kids, it's just making content creators need to make their content can't show their kids or safe for school.

KZbin will take anything "cartoon-y" and automatically label it as Family Friendly, even if the uploader has NOT specified the video as Family Friendly. This often results in the video getting displayed on KZbin Kids, getting flagged, and the uploader getting their video pulled and a strike placed against their account. KZbin is fucked up.
