Fun fact: Tim Burton wrote a three-page poem titled The Nightmare Before Christmas when he was a Disney animator in the early-1980s. Burton took inspiration from television specials of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer (1964), How the Grinch Stole Christmas! (1966) and the poem A Visit from St. Nicholas. On the 2008 Special Edition Blu-ray/DVD release, Christopher Lee narrates this poem with a new animated visual accompaniment.

Tim Burton did not actually direct this one. Sure, he threw money at it, but who's to say how much control he really had? Corpse Bride is his real stop-motion baby. And it's SO MUCH BETTER.

While Tim didn't directed it, its always a misconception that he was very hands off of the movie. The movie started with a poem of his. He did designed everything with his original drawings, from the characters, to the backgrounds. He helped pick the actors and actresses, and Danny Elfman for the soundtrack. Its very much his movie too, just as its Henry Selick's, the actual director of the movie.

Even in the original film, Jack's merit as the king of Halloween wasn't being hideous himself: everyone in town is easily more horrendous than he is except Sally, but Jack is very well versed into set-ups, acting and gesture while everyone else is a goofball.

Shame KH3 did nothing fun like KH2 did to be brutally honest here, like where's Lion sora? Nope! No classics besides toy story, just things they thought would bring in the most cash. There "reasoning" being "Oh we didn't want to make worlds people had visited before" Because we totally did not want to go back to the worlds we loved most in modern times, its not like we play KH2 over again about 50 times... Kh3? one playthrough maybe, then done.

@@Goremize I half agree, It would have been nice to revisit more worlds besides pirates, however for the narrative they were setting up for the ending, the worlds we did get and the foreshadowing they set up were actually important. In a way kh2 felt more like fan service and kh3 was straight up plot. (im sure someone will argue 'what plot' but its job was to drag us kicking and screaming to the ending, not to be fluffy and filler) Worlds like nightmare before christmas and pride land's stories were already finished in kh2 and going back wouldnt have served much purpose besides fan service. I wouldnt say kh3 was the best in the series, and of course there were issues, but there was an actual purpose to each world and each one cemented the ending before we even got to it. (again dont get me wrong kh2 is still my favourite in the series, but kh3 wasnt the worse)

It has equal amounts of both, so its in-between, right? And you know what else is between Halloween and Christmas? American Thanksgiving. The Nightmare Before Christmas is an American Thanksgiving movie.

0:57 Cas understood the assignment 🤣. I was just saying, before this video started, how it'd be great for KH to get an Ultimate Recap game by game. With Super Mario 64 and Super Mario Sunshine getting some recaps, video games aren't off limits for cartoon recaps. So, I'd say it's only a matter of time 🤞🏿.

Skid and pump are clearly the best hitmen as they kidnapped such a powerful being like santa in just a few seconds. Also was hoping you'd do it up towards the end but I understand how long animation takes.
