Whomps and his family going on a vacation is the kind of moment you see in Mario RPGs (be it Paper Mario, Mario and Luigi, or SMRPG), where Mario enemies are civilized as the residence of the Mushroom Kingdom outside of Bowser's army and shared the same neighbourhood as the Toads.

Throughout the whole thing I kept thinking it was gonna stray away from being wholesome and end with something terrible, I’m glad the family just had a fun time! Nostalgia and serotonin is a wonderful mix!

Probably the least wholesome thing that happened was the daughter Whomp killing the Toads at 3:02, but other than that, this cartoon had a fantastic balance between wholesomeness and deconstructive comedy.

The lean back before the tunnel was something that I was not expecting and it was heavily cleaver and neat. The ending something I also did not expect but I should had seen that one coming, ha ha.
